Welcome to StoneyCroft Wine Estate
StoneyCroft is a small exclusive vineyard on the slopes in Devon Vale just outside the hirstorical town of Stellenbosch in South Africa.
The area nestles between the Bottelary Hills and the Simonsberg and boasts some of the most beautiful vineyards in the world producing some of the best red wines.
John Stone purchased the farm in 2000 with an established Shiraz vineyard that was, at that time, 12 years old.
The vineyard had been leased by Distell, one of South Africa’s leading wine producers for the production of an exclusive Shiraz.
In 2001, the lease to Distell was not renewed and the StoneyCroft label established.
In 2010, half of the Shiraz vineyard was removed and replaced with Cabernet Sauvignon.
The new, young vineyard is doing well. It is hoped that the first vintage of StoneyCroft Cabernet Sauvignon will be produced in 2013.
Consideration is also being given to creating a Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
Each vintage of StoneyCroft Shiraz is produced and nurtured according to the particular qualities of the grape, allowing for distinctly different nuances in the Shiraz.
The singular objective is to produce a wine that is both exquisite and exclusive.
StoneyCroft wines are designed to be both a ‘gift’ and an experience.
